Harold F. Lammers Sr., 1912-2003, Pilot Grove
Harold Francis Lammers Sr., 91, of Pilot Grove, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003,
at Cooper County Memorial Hospital in Boonville.
He was born Sept. 24, 1912, in Pilot Grove, a son of Frank and Sophia Schuster
Lammers. On Sept. 2, 1940, in Pilot Grove, he was married to Grace Gerling, who
survives of the home.
Mr. Lammers was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove. He
had been a member of the St. Martins Parish, before it closed. He served on the
St. Martins Cemetery Board for several years. He lived and farmed in the
Chouteau Springs area near St. Martins most of his life. He moved to Pilot
Grove in 1981.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Klenklen, of Boonville; two sons, Harold
Lammers Jr., of Rocheport, and Joseph Lammers, of Pilot Grove; a sister, Edna
Kempf, of Tipton; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Virginia Lammers and Eunice Caton; and a
grandson, Matt Lammers.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church
in Pilot Grove, with the Rev. Tom Seifner officiating. Pallbearers will be
Chris Klenklen, Mark Klenklen, Luke Lammers, Michael Lammers, David Kempf,
Jerry Kempf and Robert Gerling. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Devine, Bob
Painter, Fred Lammers, Ernie Lammers and Homer Twenter. Burial will be in St.
Joseph Cemetery in Pilot Grove. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday at
Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Pilot Grove. The family will receive friends from
6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church, where a prayer service will begin at 7:30
p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Joseph Catholic Church or
to St. Joseph School.
